Cui Hanchen

Cui completed her undergraduate study in the Composition Department of Xinghai Conservatory of Music under the guidance of Associate Professor Chen Si’ang. In 2021, she was admitted to the Composition Department of the Central Conservatory of Music to pursue a master’s degree in composition, studying under Professor Chang Ping.

She has created orchestral music, ethnic orchestral music, concertos, chamber operas, chamber music, solo music, and actively participated in various social music creations. Has collaborated with art performance groups such as Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra, Central Chinese Orchestra, Changsha Symphony Orchestra, Chongqing Chinese Orchestra, Beijing Symphony Orchestra, China Symphony Orchestra, Guangdong Chinese Orchestra, Chengdu Symphony Orchestra, etc.

In June 2020, she worked as an orchestrator for the Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra’s Tribute to the ‘Heroes in Harm’s Way’ Concert. In December 2021, she was invited by the Guangdong Traditional Orchestra to perform the bamboo flute concerto The Call of the Wind. In June 2023, her chamber music work Glimmer of Fireflies premiered at the Central Conservatory of Music. In 2023, her chamber opera Qinglian Jushi was selected for the Chinese Chamber Opera Promotion Plan. In 2023, she participated in the 11th Music and Dance Collection of the Central Conservatory of Music. In May 2024, her orchestral work Yi was selected for the Outstanding Graduate orchestral works concert at the Central Conservatory of Music and premiered at the ‘Future Star’ concert of the Chengdu Symphony Orchestra.
